Purse designer buys Eureka 4BD

Karyn Fairchild and her husband, Darin, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 627 Southern Hills Dr. in Eureka for $428,500 from Jeffrey and Amy McFarland on March 6.

The McFarlands paid $299,000 for the home in Feb. 2000. It was built in 1998.

Lynn Beebe of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $469,000 when it appeared on the market in July.

Mrs. Fairchild has previously designed purses and has sold her designs at St. Louis-area crafts shows and online.

Home sales in Eureka dropped more than one percent in 2007. The median sale price also dropped $13,000 last year, from $242,000 in 2006 to $229,000 in 2007.
