Merle L. Silverstein and his wife, Marcelyn, sold their four-bedroom, four bath at 915 Brownwood Dr. in Frontenac for $650,000 to Elizabeth Evans on March 3.

Jill Malley of Laura McCarthy real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $789,000 when it appeared on the market in June.

Mr. Silverstein is a partner for St. Louis law firm Rosenblum, Goldenhersh, Silvertstein and Zafft. He specializes in general litigation for the firm, as well as domestic matters and contract disputes. He joined the firm as a partner in 1956.

He earned his J.D. from Washington University (1951) and his bachelor's from the St. Louis school as well ('48).

Home sales in Frontenac rose more than 18 percent in 2007. The median sale price, however, dropped $160,000 last year, from $800,000 in 2006 to $640,000 in 2007.
