IT architect spends $405K in Chesterfield

Rahul A. Deshpande and his wife, Rutela A. Barue, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 16709 Benton Taylor Dr. in Chesterfield for $405,000 from William and Epifania Sloan on April 2.

Sirva Relocation Credit facilitated the sale. The Sloans paid $382,240 for the home in May 2001.

Betsy Phillips of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $449,500 when it appeared on the market in December.

Deshpande is a senior IT architect at Unigroup Inc. in St. Louis.

He previously worked as lead specialist of technical architecture at Transentric, a senior software engineer at IBM and as a member of the technical staff at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing.

He earned his M.B.A. from Washington University's Olin Business School in St. Louis and his bachelor's from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Home sales in Chesterfield dropped seven percent in 2007. The median sales price, however, rose $5,000 last year, from $325,000 in 2006 to $330,000 in 2007.
