Dr. L. Stewart Massad and his wife, Sylvia, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 6300 Alamo Ave. in Clayton for $669,000 from Nathan and Mary Huebner on March 28.

The Huebners paid $208,000 for the property in June 1993. The 3,050 square foot house was built in 1917.

Jeffrey Warner of Laura McCarthy real estate sold the home for its listed price.

Dr. Massad is a gynecologic oncologist in St. Louis, specialized in treating cervical, uterine, ovarian and other female genital cancers. He is also a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

He previously served as an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology and chief of the gynecologic oncology division at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He also served as the chief of gynecologic oncology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and on the faculty at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, also in Chicago.

He earned his M.D. from Duke University and his bachelor's from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

Home sales in Clayton dropped more than 12 percent in 2007. The median sale price, however, rose $33,000 last year, from $478,000 in 2006 to $511,000 in 2007.
