Charles J. Payer Jr. bought a four-bedroom, 4.5 bath at 2203 Sycamore Dr. in Chesterfield for $670,000 from Thomas A. Clapper and his wife, Nevalee, on April 15.

The Clappers paid $580,908 for the home in Sept. 2002, the same year it was built.

Christi Miceli of RE/MAX Suburban real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $719,900.

Payer is president and founder of Liberty Transnational, Inc., a St. Louis company that provides business consulting and strategic advisory services. He is also managing director and co-founder of Freedom Development Group LLC, a merchant banking affiliate of Liberty that sponsors the development of new and existing businesses in the telecommunications and information services field.

He was previously chairman and a co-founder at Millennium Digital Media. He's also served as the CEO of the MobileMedia Corporation, and held executive positions with AT&T Advanced Mobile Phone Service, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Western Electric, now known as Lucent Technologies.

He earned his M.B.A. in management sciences and a bachelor's in electrical engineering, both from Saint Louis University.

Home sales in Chesterfield dropped seven percent in 2007. The median sale price, however, increased $5,000 last year, from $325,000 in 2006 to $330,000 in 2007.
