Couple buys Webster Groves 5BD from Omaha lawyer

Donald C. Land and Gretchen L. Floresca bought a five-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 719 Sherwood Dr. in Webster Groves for $825,000 from Jude J. Beller and his wife, Alexis, on April 16.

The Bellers paid $400,000 for the home in May 2005.

Susan Schiff of RE/MAX Associates Plus was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $835,000.

Land is a principal at Balke Brown Associates, a St. Louis development and construction company he joined in 1998.

He previously served as the company's senior vice president of development.

Floresca is the president and sole owner of Werremeyer, a St. Louis company that provides brand development, graphic design and advertising services.

She did graphic design work for the company before inheriting ownership from her father in 2000.

Mr. Beller is a partner at Blackwell Sanders, a law firm in Omaha, Neb. He rejoined the firm this year.

He concentrates his practice on the areas of real estate, land use development and financing and construction and design.

He previously served as a general counsel at McGowan&pipe;Walsh Historic Renovators and was a senior associate at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin in St. Louis.

He received his bachelor's and J.D. from Creighton University in Omaha.

Home sales in Webster Groves have risen 14.3 percent thus far in 2008. The median sales price, however, has dropped from $210,000 in 2007 to $179,000 thus far in 2008.
