City Academy founder spends $3.5M in Ladue

Donald Danforth and his wife, Susannah, bought a five-bedroom, five bath at 2015 S. Warson Rd. in Ladue for $3.5 million from Stuart J. Krawll and his wife, Susan, on May 2.

The 7,187 square foot home was built in 1935.

Linda Benoist of Janet McAfee Inc. sold the home for its listed price.

Mr. Danforth is a co-founder and the president of City Academy, a private St. Louis elementary school located in the Matthews Dickey Boys and Girls Club.

He attended the Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School and graduated form St. Lawrence University.

Mr. Krawll is the president and CEO of Beam of St. Louis, a central vacuum system company in St. Louis.

The Krawlls bought a five-bedroom house at 18 Cricklewood Place in Frontenac for $2.6 million on April 30.

Home sales in Ladue have risen 2.6 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price has also risen from $714,000 in 2007 to $725,000 thus far in 2008.
