Washington University plant specialist gets $925K for Clarkson Valley 4BD

Bradley J. Castanho and his wife, Jonna, sold their four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 2342 Sterling Pointe Dr. in Clarkson Valley for $925,000 to William L. Howard and his wife, Krista, on May 7.

The 4,510 square foot house was built in 1995.

Phyllis Barr of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $980,000 when it appeared on the market in August.

Mr. Castanho, Ph.D., serves as an assistant vice chancellor and a co-director of the office of technology management at Washington University in St. Louis. He was named to the positions in Jan. 2007 after spending nearly a year as an interim director of the office.

He previously spent more than 20 years in various capacities with the Monsanto Company, including a stint as director for marketing and new business development.

He earned a Ph.D. in plant pathology and his bachelor's in biological sciences and plant pathology from the University of California at Davis.

Home sales in Clarkson Valley have dropped 26 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price has also dropped from $607,000 in 2007 to $538,000 so far this year.
