Charles A. McWherter sold his three-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 1320 Christmas Valley Dr. in Wildwood for $430,000 to Heather M. Mayden on April 28.

McWherter paid $385,000 for the home in Aug. 2003. The 2,324 square foot house was built in 1995.

Charles Twedell of Prudential Alliance Realtors was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $445,000.

Mr. McWherter serves as a senior vice president of research and pre-clinical development at Metabolex, Inc., a California-based company that conducts researches and develops drugs that treat diabetes and other related metabolic disorders. He joined the company in 2007.

He was previously vice president and leader of cardiovascular therapeutics at pharmaceutical giant Pfizer in St. Louis. He's also served as vice president of drug discovery at Sugen, which was acquired by Pfizer in 1999.

He also served as an adjunct assistant professor of molecular biology and pharmacology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Home sales in Wildwood have risen 28.4 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has dropped $25,000, from $355,000 in 2007 to $330,000 so far this year.
