Former St. Louis Blues forward Jamal Mayers and his wife, Natalie, bought a three-bedroom, three bath at 9 Terrace Gardens in Frontenac for $505,000 from Norton Y. Beilenson and his wife, Benita, on May 14.
The 2,223 square foot house was built in 1956.
Mr. Mayers, 33, has been a fixture at forward for the St. Louis Blues since he made his professional debut with the team during the 1996-97 season. He played in 595 games with the team until he was traded to his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs on June 20 for a 2008 third round pick. He scored 71 goals and added 87 assists in his time with the Blues, including a career high 15 assists last season.
Mayers was drafted 89th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
Beilenson has served as a partner at Edwards, Schramm, Young and Beilenson LLP, a law firm in Clayton.
Home sales in Frontenac are up 6.4 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has dropped from $660,000 in 2007 to $408,000 so far this year.
