Telecom company engineer spends $465K for Brentwood 4BD

Prakash G. Seitz and his wife, Emily, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 2443 Cecilia Ave. in Brentwood for $465,000 from Mayer Custom Homes Inc. on May 20.

Mayer Custom Homes paid $184,000 for the home in Oct. 2004 before remodeling it in 2005. It was built in 1949.

Beth Maisak of Mayer Realty was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $549,000 when it appeared on the market in November.

Mr. Seitz works in the engineering department at ARRIS, a global communications technology company that specializes in the design and engineering of broadband networks.

He graduated from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.

Home sales in Brentwood have declined 8.9 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has risen from $164,000 to $185,000 so far this year.
