Bryan Cave attorney buys classic University City 3BD

Sayler A. Ault and Kevin Fleming bought a three-bedroom, two bath home at 7259 Cornell Ave. in University City for $420,500 from Michael L. Bender and his wife, Leila, on May 15.

The Benders paid $415,000 for the home in June 2005. The 1,988-square-foot house was built in 1931.

Valerie Engel of Janet McAfee Inc. real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $424,500.

Ault is an associate in the St. Louis office of international law firm Bryan Cave, LLP. She practices in the commercial litigation and appellate areas.

She received her bachelor's from Mississippi State University in 2002 and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University in '06.

Home sales in University City are up 7.5 percent in 2008 versus 2007. The median sale price, however, is down 19.3 percent, from $160,000 in 2007 to $129,000 so far this year.
