Medical couple spends $373K in Chesterfield

Dr. Rimki Rana and her husband, Dr. Sameer Rana, bought a three-bedroom, 2.5 bath home at 192 Brighthurst Dr. in Chesterfield for $373,000 from Denise J. Stone on June 18.

The 2,178-square-foot house was built in 1994.

Jeff Lottmann of RE/MAX Properties West was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $389,000.

Dr. Rimki Rana is a board-certified family physician practicing at the St. Joseph Medical Park in St. Peters, Mo.

She completed her family medicine residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Prior to that, she was a research fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

She received her M.D. in India and moved to the United States in 2001 with her family.

Before moving to Missouri, Dr. Sameer Rana was a diagnostic critical care physician in Des Moines.

Home sales in Chesterfield are up 37 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has dropped $5,000 this year, from $330,000 in 2007 to $325,000 in 2008.
