Mike Rechan and his wife, Lauren, bought a three-bedroom, three bath home at 120 N. Forsyth Blvd. in Clayton for $522,500 from Forrest M. Murphy and his wife, Jill, on June 16.
The Murphys paid $476,250 for the property in July 2004. The 2,150-square-foot house was built in 1938.
Molly Murphy of Murphy Realty Partners was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $549,000 when it appeared on the market in March.
Mr. Rechan serves as executive vice president of strategic alliances at Vibe Solutions Group, a web hosting company in St. Louis.
He previously co-founded GlobalStreams.com in 1999, a provider of video communications hardware and software in St. Louis. He served as the CEO of GlobalStreams until the company was sold to Play Streaming Media Group in Feb. 2001.
Prior to his work in technology, Mr. Rechan worked in media, as founder and publisher of a men's magazine sold to the Journal Register Co. He was also a professional sports agent.
Mr. Rechan received his J.D. and M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and his bachelor's from Brown University.
Home sales in Clayton are up 5.6 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, is down from $511,000 in 2007 to $376,000 so far this year.
