Frontenac alderman sells in Ladue

Thomas W. Hizar and his wife, Anne, sold a five-bedroom, 3.5 bath home at 3 Lindworth Dr. in Ladue for $925,000 to Jeffrey M. Linihan on June 10.

The Hizars paid $515,000 for the property in March 2007. The 3,248-square-foot-house was built in 1937.

Anne Hizar of Laura McCarthy real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $1.05 million when it appeared on the market in November.

Mr. Hizar currently serves as 3rd Alderman in the City of Frontenac.
He has previously served as president of Verlok, a St. Louis-based company which produces lockable shopping carts.

Mr. Linihan is an attorney at The Lowenbaum Partnership, L.L.C., a law firm in Clayton.
He specializes in the area of labor and employment law.

He was a former partner at McMahon, Berger, Hanna, Linihan, Cody and McCarthy and has also served as an attorney at Williams Venker and Sanders, L.L.C.

He received a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a bachelor's from Franklin and Marshall College.

The Hizars have owned a number of homes in the St. Louis area, including a three-bedroom in 9 Huntleigh Downs Rd. in Frontenac and a four-bedroom home at 41 Stoneleigh Towers St. in Olivette, which they sold for $635,000 in July 2006.

Home sales in Ladue have risen 2.6 percent thus far in 2008. The median sales price has also risen from $714,000 in 2007 to $725,000 so far this year.
