James A. Gulbrandsen and his wife, Cynthia, sold a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 30 Clermont Lane in Ladue for $980,000 to Christopher D. Bowers and his wife, Joan, on July 28.
The 4,349-square-foot house was built in 1941.
Mr. Gulbrandsen has served as senior vice president of Argosy Gaming ., a casino operator with locations in Chicago, St. Louis, Baton Rouge, La., Kansas City, Kan., Cincinnati, Ohio and Sioux City, Iowa. In 2005, the company merged with Penn National Gaming.
Prior to Argosy, Mr. Gulbrandsen was an owner/operator of the Womack Casino in Cripple Creek, Colo.
Home sales in Ladue have risen 2.6 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price has also risen from $714,000 in 2007 to $725,000 so far this year.
