Kate H. Murashige and Christe P. Zones bought a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 54 Willow Hill Road in Ladue for $495,000 from Carolyn and Barry Ahlemeier on July 30.
The 2,051-square-foot house was built in 1956.
Dr. Murashige is a senior partner in the San Diego office of Morrison Foerster. She is a patent and trademark attorney whose practice focuses on the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
She is a member of the scientific freedom and responsibility committee of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster in 1991, Dr. Murashige was a co-founder of the former Ciotti & Murashige, a biotechnology and bioscience practice. Before that, she was in corporate practice at Syntex and later at Genentech. She also served as an associate with the firm of Lyon & Lyon in Los Angeles.
Prior to practicing law, Dr. Murashige taught college chemistry and was chair of physical sciences at the College of San Mateo.
Dr. Murashige received her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, her Ph.D. in chemistry from UCLA and her J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
There have been 73 sales in Ladue thus far in 2008. Median sales price is at $725,000 so far this year.
