Robert B. Zirlin and his wife, Rachel, bought a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath at 703 Cleveland Ave. in Kirkwood's Avondale for $465,000 from Scott Gallaway and his wife, Bridget, on May 27.
The Gallaways paid $480,000 for the 2,632-square-foot house in July 2004, the same year it was built.
Mr. Zirlin has served as director of marketing for Insituform Technologies, Inc., a worldwide provider of technologies and services for rehabilitating sewer, water and other underground piping systems. The company is headquartered in Chesterfield.
Prior to joining Insituform Technologies, he held various positions at ArvinMeritor, Inc., in Troy, Mich., such as director of product planning and development and director of worldwide marketing. He earlier worked for Rockwell International Corp., an electronics controls and communications company with global headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis., and Shirley, N.Y.
He is a past director of the American Marketing Association.
He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Lafayette College, an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.
There have been 275 sales in Kirkwood thus far in 2008. Median sales price is at $195,500 so far this year.
