John E. Fuhler and his wife, Leora, bought a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 11735 Fawnridge Dr. in Des Peres' Harwood Hills from Dr. Brian P. Nedwek and his wife, Judith, for $784,000 on Oct. 14.

The Nedweks paid $690,000 for the property in May 2004.

The 3,831-square-foot house was listed at $825,000. It was built in 2003.

Mr. Fuhler is senior VP of fiscal operations at Suddenlink Communications, a cable broadband provider headquartered in St. Louis.

Prior to joining Suddenlink Communications in May 2006, he spent 16 years in fiscal operations in the cable and telecommunications industries with companies such as AAT Communications and Charter Communications.

Mr. Fuhler graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. degree in accounting.

Dr. Nedwek is president of Ohio Dominican University. He took over his role at the Columbus, Ohio, school on July 1.

He was formerly the VP for academic affairs at Maryville University in St. Louis. He joined Maryville University in 2004, and was promoted to the role of acting president in March 2006. He has also served as the university's chief academic officer.

Dr. Nedwek also held academic appointments at St. John's University in New York City, the University of Detroit Mercy and St. Louis University.

He earned his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his master's and bachelor's degrees in political science from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

There have been 130 sales in Des Peres in 2008 with a median price of $341,000.
