Dewang Deng and her husband, Suen Shi, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 17853 Wilderness Cliff Court in Wildwood from Kenneth L. Godat and his wife, Deanna, for $395,000 on Dec. 15.

The Godats paid $322,500 for the property in June 2000.

The 2,454-square-foot home was built in 1998.

Deng has been a research associate in the department of plant and soil science at Alabama A&M University in Normal, Ala. Her areas of expertise include bioinformatics, computer application in biodata analysis, plant molecular cytobiology, crop gene transformation and cotton genetic improvement.

There were 496 sales in Wildwood in 2008, with a median price of $342,283.
