Jon M. Baris and wife, Melissa Z. Baris, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 14020 Wethersfield Terrace Court in Chesterfield from Cody Properties, LLC, for $428,000 on Jan. 14.

The 2,958-square-foot house was built in 1984.

Mr. Baris works as the assistant director in the career services office at the Saint Louis University School of Law. He also serves as a member at large on the BAMSL Board of Governors.

Prior to joining the law school, he was an attorney at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and an associate at the Baris Law Firm. He also served on the executive committee of BAMSL's Young Lawyers Division and served as BAMSL YLD Chairperson for the 2005-2006 bar year.

Mr. Baris received his B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his J.D. from Washington University.

Mrs. Baris serves as a partner at Husch Blackwell Sanders, LLP, a full-service litigation and business services law firm. Her practice focuses on the areas of commercial, ERISA and insurance litigation.

She graduated from Tulane University with a B.A. in political economy and earned a J.D. from the Washington University School of Law.

There were 605 home sales in Chesterfield in 2008, with a median sales price of $330,000.
