Scion of wine making family owned this house

Joseph Bardenheier owned this house from 1939 to 1958. He operated the Bardenheier Wine Cellars in St. Louis. At their peak, Bardenheier's was one of the largest family owned and operated wineries in the United States. They had over 150 distributors in 39 states, with a total sales force of nearly 1,300 representatives and brokers. The winery was sold in 1983.
