College Football Hall of Fame member, Charles "Bud" Wilkinson, owned this house when he was coach of the NFL St. Louis Cardinals in 1978 and 1979. As football coach for the University of Oklahoma from 1947 to 1963, Wilkonson's teams won three national championships and 14 Big Eight Conference championships. Between 1953 and 1957 his Oklahoma teams won 47 consecutive games, a still standing NCAA record. From 1961 to 1964 Wilkinson was director of President Kennedy's Youth Fitness Program. He also ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1964. Wilkinson passed away living in St. Louis in 1994.
