Scion of Granite City Steel Co. and Granite City, Illinois owned this house

Granite City Steel Company executive, Lee Niedringhaus, owned this house. He was the son of Granite City Steel Company founder William Niedringhaus. The elder Niedringhaus purchased 3,500 acres of land in 1891 and founded Granite City, Illinois, location of the existing Granite City Steel Company, which employed 900 workers at the time. Lee Niedringhaus owned this Theodore C. Link designed house until the 1920's.
