Pioneering Washington University social worker owned this house

Public welfare administrator and educator, Benjamin Youngdahl, owned this house when he passed away in 1970. He joined the faculty of the Washington University, George Warren Brown School of Social Work in 1939. Youngdahl led the school to prestigious status during his tenure as dean of the school from 1945 to 1962. Under his leadership, the George Warren Brown School of Social Work was the first division at Washington University to admit black students.
