by BlockShopper Historian published May 14, 2010

Mass-murderer, Charles "Cookie" Thornton, owned this house the night he died while leading the murderous assault at Kirkwood City Hall in 2008. Thornton's rampage claimed the lives of six people including two police officers and the mayor of Kirkwood. He decided to carry out this attack after being offered cancellation of thousands of dollars of fines he had become delinquent on after amassing more than 100 ordinance violations.
