Finance professor, software developer buy 4BD

Medium 2bbf0abaa7ff27bc2ed835874c94aa5c Bidisha Chakrabarty and her husband, Rahul Tripathi, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 664 Princeton Gate Dr. in Chesterfield from Alan and Diann Muck for $504,000 on June 26.

The Mucks bought the property for $484,500 in May 2004. The 3,600-square-foot house, which was built in 1992, is in the neighborhood of South of 64.

Chakrabarty is an assistant professor in the finance department at John Cook School of Business of St. Louis University. She is also a faculty member at the Boeing Institute of International Business. Prior to joining St. Louis University in 2003, she taught at the School of Management of SUNY-Buffalo.

She earned her B.A., M.A. and M.Phil. in economics from the University of Delhi in India and her Ph.D. in finance from SUNY-Buffalo.

Tripathi is a senior software developer at Savvis, a St. Louis-based provider of managed computing and network infrastructure for IT applications. Prior to joining Savvis in 2007, he worked in senior software development positions with companies like Tripos, Elsevier and Navistar. He began his career in software development with Novell in 1997.

He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur.

There were 568 home sales in Chesterfield in 2008, with a median sales price of $318,475.
