Ex-Cardinal Edmonds sells for $1.89M

Jim Edmonds sold his three-bedroom, six-bath home at 114 Hunters Grove Dr. in Creve Coeur for $1.89 million to Global Market Mr Property, LLC, on Oct. 28.

The two-story, 6,818-square-foot home was built in 1994.

Prior to the 2000 season, he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals, and he remained with the team until 2007. He spent last season with the San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs.

Regarded as one of the top center fielders of his generation, Edmonds has won eight gold gloves and been named to four All-Star teams. He won the Silver Slugger award in 2004 and was a member of the 2006 World Champion Cardinals.

Edmonds has twice finished in the top five of National League MVP balloting. In 2000, he hit .295 with 42 home runs and 108 RBIs, finishing fourth in the voting. He posted similar numbers in 2004, batting .301 with 42 homers and 111 RBIs, finishing fifth in MVP voting.

He is currently a free agent, though his agent told ESPN in November the 38-year-old has no plans on retiring.

Edmonds and his wife, Allyson, married in Clayton in July.
